Our Story
We are the largest provider of the mortgage agent course for licensing in Ontario with over 6,000 students annually. In addition we provide the HLLQP course for life insurance agent licensing. White, author of the textbook used by both the REMIC and Seneca College courses for agent licensing, and numerous sales resources, the Real Estate and Mortgage Institute of Canada is the Institute dedicated to the mortgage brokerage industry and the life insurance industry. White founded the Institute to meet the needs of financial services professionals by focusing solely on the mortgage brokerage industry. In 2016 REMIC expanded its educational offerings to include the life insurance agent course, called the HLLQP. In doing so REMIC provides both life insurance agents and mortgage agents the ability to expand their sphere of influence and diversify their income by becoming dual licensed. REMIC Mortgage Agent Course (RMAC): REMIC provides the Ontario mortgage agent course for licensing, often referred to as the Ontario mortgage agent licensing course. This course is required by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) to become a licensed mortgage agent or become a licensed mortgage broker in Ontario. REMIC is the leading provider, with more graduates than any other provider in the province. REMIC HLLQP Course: REMIC provides the Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP). This course is required to become a licensed life insurance agent in Canada. REMIC is approved by CISRO and FSCO. Click here to go to our HLLQP site

REMIC is also approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) as an accredited educational institution. REMIC provides students a tax receipt (T2202A) for the REMIC Mortgage Agent Course. Mission Statement

Did you know you can access cash from your property without selling it? 🏡

A reverse mortgage allows Canadian homeowners aged 55+ to borrow against their home equity while continuing to live in their property.

Unlike a traditional mortgage, regular payments aren't required. Instead, interest accumulates over time, and the loan is typically repaid when the property is sold or the borrower moves out.

But how much can you actually borrow, and what are the long-term costs? 👀

Stay tuned in as we break down the details.

You don’t need to post every day to build a successful business — but you do need a plan.

A few things to focus on:

→ Know your value proposition. Be clear on what you do and the value you bring.
→ Build your referral network. Strong relationships can become strong sources of business.
→ Network with intention. Know who you want to meet, what you want to accomplish, and come prepared.
→ Make sure people can find you online. Even if you build your business offline, potential clients are still likely to look you up.
→ Build a library of useful content. Give people something credible to find when they search your name.
→ Don’t guess when you don’t know. Get the right answer and follow up — trust matters.

Online or offline, it comes down to being intentional about how people find you, trust you, and remember you.

What’s brought you more business: referrals, networking, or your online presence? 👇
