John D Rockefeller, the richest person to ever live in the modern era and one of the most powerful men in US history, has a complicated legacy. Part of what he is remembered for is his impact on the education system.

Much has been written and said about how Rockefeller is an evil man who remade education to create mindless workers to serve him.

In this video we examine Rockefeller's approach to education, and whether his motives truly were evil, or if he was simply incompetent when it came to education.

Robert Kennedy Jr has broken from the Democratic party and announced that he will run as an independent in the 2024 Presidential Election.

His announcement comes with a number of interesting results. Despite the Kennedys being a mainstay of the Democratic party, current polls show that RFK Jr is pulling more support from Donald Trump than he is from Joe Biden. Republicans have responded with a number of harsh comments, and their strategy at the moment is to bring to light all the ways that Kennedy has sided with the Democrats in the past.

At the same time, Robert Kennedy Jr has a number of beliefs that resonate with Republican voters, making him a difficult candidate for either party to fully discredit.

Joe Biden and Donald Trump are neck and neck in current polls. If that continues, then Robert Kennedy Jr will almost certainly decide the election by taking key votes away from one candidate.

In 2015 hopeful Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a promise. He promised to make every vote count, explicitly saying that his government would ensure 2015 was the last federal election decided by First Past the Post.

That promise helped him get elected to a majority government. But the next year he decided not to follow through on election reform, disappointing many Canadians.

Why would he turn his back on his promise? A simple answer is power.

The more complicated answer is that First Past the Post is an electoral system that divides us, prevents collaboration, weakens long term policies on things like climate change, corruption, economic growth and fiscal responsibility, and elects false governments against the will of the people.

But it also gives people like Justin Trudeau a disproportionate amount of power. So the question remains; how do we change a system that benefits the only people able to change it?

Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau have agreed to separate, adding another layer to the difficulties of the Prime Minister and the Liberal party as a whole. Does this mark the beginning of the end for Trudeau as the leader of the party?

Trump receives his most serious indictment yet, another credit agency loses faith in the United States, and much more!

After a hiatus we are back!

The US Supreme Court made another historic decision this week, more or less gutting affirmative action. Was the Supreme Court meant to take such strange stances on deeply political issues? Has the court become too powerful?

The fallout of the Wagner coup attempt is just beginning. It's not just about the Russian regime, it's about the delicate power balance in war torn areas around the world that the Wagner group has an intricate part in.

All that and more on this episode of 5 in 5!

It was a busy week in US politics, as Trump was indicted on felony charges for not properly disclosing the purpose of the alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.

Ron DeSantis has engaged in an escalating battle with Disney World, even as Disney continues to be a massive source of tourist dollars for the state. Galen Weston got a huge raise, as families struggle to afford groceries. And Twitter gives NPR a controversial label.

Tik Tok CEO Shou Chew went before Congress this week to defend Tik Tok... it didn't go well. American law makers seem poised to make a big decision on Tik Tok soon.

Meanwhile, the purchase of Credit Suisse by rival UBS creates a new bank that is too big for its own good, and the good of Switzerland.

Plus Democrats and Republicans continue to make little progress on the debt ceiling issue, Hindenburg research shorts another company, and SVB gets an endorsement from a surprising source.
