The Bank of Canada has lowered its benchmark interest rate by .25%. Prime Rate is now 4.45%. The next Bank of Canada rate announcement is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.

Bank of Canada Rate Update – July 30, 2025.

The Bank of Canada has held its key policy interest rate, marking the third consecutive hold. As a result, Canada’s prime rate remains steady at 4.95%.

Borrowers with variable-rate mortgages, HELOCs, and lines of credit can expect interest costs to stay steady—for now.

The next Bank of Canada Rate Announcement is September 17th, 2025.
