One of the most important things I've learned as an advisor?

You don't need to be a medical expert to have the conversations that matter most.
I recently watched an insightful interview with Kris Fogarty from RBC Insurance, and one thing really resonated: the way underwriting has evolved means we can now say "yes" to more people, faster, and with greater confidence than ever before.
Conditions that were once automatic declines are now assessed thoughtfully, looking at the whole person, not just a single diagnosis. That changes everything for the clients we serve.

Here's what I'm taking away:
1. Point-of-sale decisioning means some clients can be approved before they leave our meeting
2. Full, honest disclosure doesn't mean automatic decline, it means accurate protection when it's needed most
3. Our role is to normalize the conversation, create a safe space, and help clients understand that being open now protects their family later
The majority of Canadians still don't have enough coverage. Every conversation we have could genuinely change someone's life.
