In years past, November has been a softer month for local home sales and the last month was not an exception. We saw a 52.9% drop compared to Nov 2021. That would be 3428 units sold last Nov vs 1614 sold this Nov 2022.

Happy Friday folks — Here’s another festive event that’s sure to impress the family or a date even!

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge is fun for all ages with almost 500,000 lights and decorations.

Canyon Lights supports the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund with partial proceeds from admissions donated to fire and burn education in schools throughout British Columbia.

If you’re a first time home buyer in BC, you should take advantage of as many free government programs as you can. Here are a few of the benefits you can reap as a first time home buyer in BC:

1. Federal First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit - you can receive what amounts to a rebate on your following year’s federal tax return of up to $750

2. RRSP Home Buyers Plan - You can borrow up to $25,000 (depending the amount that’s in your account) through the HBP.

3. Goods and Services Tax Credit - If you meet income thresholds, you can receive a rebate for up to 5% of the federal sales tax you pay on retail purchases and real estate sales through the GST/HST credit.
