Rule of thumb for avoiding scam and hacking issues...if they contacted you, hang up and contact a trusted person or business that can help.
For money related issues go to your bank.
For "packages" go to your post office.
For taxes call the RCMP...CRA is never going to phone you!

If they ask for your information tell them that they called you so you aren't the one who has anything to prove and therefore you are not the one who provides ANY information...no highway option!

Remember, filing your taxes on time (or early) helps prevent delays in receiving your benefits and credit payments. Even if you did not receive income in 2016, it is important to file your income tax return. By doing so you allow the CRA to calculate any refunds, credits and/or benefits that you may be eligible for.

FYI
Most Canadian income tax and benefit returns for 2016 are due on April 30, 2017. However, as this date falls on Sunday this year, the CRA will consider your return filed on time and your payment made on time if they receive it by midnight on May 1, 2017, or if it is postmarked May 1, 2017.
You can file online as early as February 20, 2017.
