Today is International Women’s Day, and it feels like the perfect moment to pause and really see one another.

To every woman out there…the ones holding families together, the ones building careers and businesses, the ones quietly healing from things no one knows about, the ones chasing big dreams, and the ones just trying to make it through today…this day is for you.

Being a woman often means carrying a thousand roles at once. We are nurturers, protectors, leaders, builders, caregivers, entrepreneurs, friends, daughters, sisters, partners. We are expected to be strong but gentle, confident but humble, capable but never “too much.” And somehow, through all of that, we keep showing up.

We show up when our hearts are tired.
We show up for the people we love.
We show up for each other.

Women face things that are rarely talked about out loud. The pressure to be perfect. The quiet battles with self-doubt. The moments where we feel underestimated or unseen. The emotional labour we carry. The strength it takes to keep going when life knocks the wind out of us.

And yet…women continue to be extraordinary.

We lift each other up.
We build communities.
We create life, ideas, movements, businesses, art, kindness, and change.

Every woman I know carries a story of resilience. Of getting back up. Of learning. Of growing. Of loving fiercely even when the world hasn’t always been gentle with her.

So today is a reminder.

You are powerful.
You are worthy.
You are capable of more than you know.
And the world is better because you are in it.

To the women who support other women, who celebrate each other instead of competing, who lend a hand, a hug, a listening ear, or a “you’ve got this” when it’s needed most…you are changing the world in ways that matter.

And to every woman reading this; keep going. Keep dreaming. Keep taking up space. Keep being exactly who you are.

The world needs your voice, your strength, your compassion, and your fire.

I’m incredibly grateful to share that I’ve received the DLC Prestige Performance Award this year.

This one truly belongs to my clients, referral partners, lenders, business partners, friends and family. Thank you for your trust, your referrals, your encouragement and your constant support. I would not be here without you.

This is my 21st year as a mortgage broker, which somehow feels both impossible and exactly right. Twenty one years of conversations, emails, tight timelines, happy tears, stressful moments, and a whole lot of “Can you just quickly explain one more thing?” calls. I genuinely love what I do, and I’m incredibly grateful that so many of you continue to choose me to be part of such an important chapter in your lives.

To be recognized in the 2% of Brokers is an honour, but what matters far more to me is the relationships behind every single one of those mortgages. Your confidence in me, and the trust you place in my advice, is something I never take lightly.

Thank you for allowing me to do this work, for believing in me, and for supporting me for more than two decades. I am deeply thankful, very humbled, and excited to keep showing up for you, one mortgage and one family at a time. 💛

The Bank of Canada has just announced another 0.25% interest rate cut; bringing the prime lending rate down to 6.70%. This is the second time in a row they've lowered the rate, and it's great news for those with variable rate mortgages!

If you have a variable rate mortgage, your interest rate is linked to prime rate. So, when the BOC cuts rates, your mortgage interest rate drops too.

Canada’s annual inflation rate dropped to 2.7% in June after a temporary increase in May. The path to getting inflation down to 2.00% might not be smooth, and future rate cuts will depend on how inflation progresses, the Bank of Canada is keeping a close eye on this to decide on future steps. For now, this rate cut is a win for borrowers!

Bank of Canada raises policy rate 25 basis points & continues quantitative tightening. There have now been 10 interest rate hikes over the last 16 months with the BOC's key interest rate moving from .25% to 5.00% this puts prime lending rate at a whopping 7.20% 😱
