⏰ Last Chance! ⏰

Monday is the last day to get these applications passed in.

Do you know a young person age 8-14 yrs old with a business idea, a creative hobby, or an entrepreneurial spirit?

CBDC JuniorPreneurs is a hands-on summer program that helps youth learn how to turn an idea into a real business.
Participants receive start-up funding to help launch their summer venture.

Last year, we had three amazing participants who each brought their own unique ideas to life. Through the program, they gained confidence, developed valuable business skills, connected with local business mentors, and experienced what it's like to run a business of their own.

This year, we've partnered with several local businesses that are excited to support and encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs in Shelburne County.

📅 Application Deadline: Monday June 15 (can be place in our mail slot outside our doors) we'll pick them up on Tuesday Morning.

If you know a young person who is always creating, building, baking, making, selling, or dreaming up ideas, we'd love to hear from them!

❓For more information or to apply, contact CBDC Shelburne at [email protected] or call 902-875-1133.

We have Kid version business plans outside of office doors for easy pick up at 157 Water Street (just down the main hallway / across from the TLC Primary care clinic) Accessible anytime TLC is open you can get into the building :)

❤️Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with parents, teachers, coaches, and youth in our community.

🧁🍿 WHERE ARE THEY NOW?🧁🍿
💫JuniorPreneur Alumni Update: Serenity Zwicker of "Serenity's Super Awesome Snacks"

As we gear up for another summer of our CBDC JuniorPreneurs program, we're catching up with some of last year's participants to see what they've been up to since completing our pilot program and their plans for this summer.

Last summer, Serenity launched “Serenity's Super Awesome Snacks”, offering homemade treats and handmade creations while building confidence, learning about business, and meeting new people.

One of Serenity's favourite parts of the experience was interacting with customers and seeing them return again and again for her fudge, popcorn, squares, and other goodies.
"Seeing how much people loved my products and having repeat customers was my favourite part."

The JuniorPreneurs program was just the beginning.
Since last summer, Serenity has continued growing her business by participating in Christmas markets, selling her products alongside her mom, displaying artwork in local art shows, and entering both her art and baked goods in the Barrington Exhibition, where she earned several ribbons.

This summer, she plans to return to local markets with new creations, artwork, and products. She's also hoping to save enough money to purchase her very own ice cream machine!
Serenity also found a way to give back through her business. Last year she raised money and donated treats and supplies to the SPCA, helping support animals in need. She plans to continue supporting a local cause through her business again this year.

One lesson she learned?
"Things cost more than you think! We looked through flyers to find the best deals and keep costs down."

Her advice to future JuniorPreneurs?
"Try your best and have fun with your own business."

❓Do you have a child Interested in starting their own business this summer?
