Money remains the leading source of stress for Canadians, ahead of health, work, and relationships. That's according to FP Canada's 2026 Financial Stress Index, and it's been true every year they've tracked it.

What's also true: Canadians who work with a financial professional are meaningfully less stressed about money than those who don't (34% vs. 48%).

Financial stress isn't just an emotional weight. It can show up in your physical health too—including sleep and overall well-being.

We put together this carousel to explain the connection and share a few practical steps. Have a look and pass it on to someone who might need to hear it.

The Hidden Power of Benefits: Building Trust

Behind every smooth transition is someone making sure nothing gets missed.

When our clients move to a new benefits provider, our Onboarding & Implementation Specialist, Ashley Moisan, is there every step of the way. This level of dedicated, hands-on support is unique in our industry and central to how we deliver an enhanced client experience. From coordinating with carriers to preparing materials and delivering training, Ashley makes the transition seamless for employers and their teams.

Most importantly, she protects what matters most. Employees stay informed, coverage continues without disruption, and ongoing claims remain supported.

Because when change is guided with care, it does not just maintain the employee experience, it strengthens it.

A Personal Request for Support From Cliff Wiegers

I want to talk to you today about an initiative that means a great deal to us: the Buffalo CYAC.

This is the first centre of its kind in Saskatchewan. Similar centres already exist across Canada and provide a safe, supportive place for children and youth who are at risk due to physical, mental, and/or sexual abuse.

We were approached by JoAnne Smallbones, who spent 25 years in city policing and the last eight years working closely with vulnerable children and youth. Through that work, she has seen firsthand the trauma many children face and the challenges involved in navigating multiple systems and locations in order to report what happened and receive support.

What makes this Centre so impactful is its approach. The facility is located in my former office building at 901 3rd Avenue North in Saskatoon, with Saskatoon City Police Child Services on the second floor and the Advocacy Centre on the main floor. This allows children and families to access support in one place, helping reduce the need for children to repeat their story over and over again or travel to multiple locations - something that can add even more trauma to an already traumatic situation.

I recently toured the facility, which is now being completed with furniture, fixtures, and other essentials needed to open its doors. Hearing JoAnne speak about her vision and passion for this project was incredibly moving. I left feeling convinced that this is one of the most meaningful ways we can make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.

Here is a list outlining some of the items and funding still needed to help complete the centre: https://bit.ly/48OU32j. If you would like to support this initiative or learn more, I encourage you to reach out to JoAnne directly using the contact information provided.

A grand opening is planned for June, and I would encourage anyone interested to come take a look, learn more about the centre, and see the impact this work will have in our community. Every contribution and every show of support matters.

To learn more about the Centre and its mission, please review this fact sheet: https://bit.ly/4d1lN6o.

You can also visit them online at https://buffalocentre.ca/

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to like, share, or pass this message along. Every one of us has the ability to make a difference - especially in the lives of children who need support the most.

Yours sincerely,
Clifford A. Wiegers

Some of the best gifts for a mom can't be wrapped.

Not the years of showing up. Not the sacrifices nobody saw. Not the quiet confidence that comes from knowing her family will be okay no matter what.

At Wiegers, we work with moms, families, and the people who love them to build plans that protect what matters most. Life insurance, estate planning, the conversations most people put off.

Happy Mother's Day to every mom doing the hard, invisible, irreplaceable work of keeping families together. 🌷

Most business owners don’t realize this 👇

When a life insurance payout is received inside a corporation, it can create a credit to something called the Capital Dividend Account (CDA).

That means a large portion of those funds can potentially be paid out to shareholders tax-free. It’s not simple but it’s powerful.

Connecting with the incomparable Alvin Law whose story is all about turning challenges into opportunities is exactly why we invest in events like these. It’s not just about showing up as the book sponsor, it’s about learning from different perspectives, strengthening relationships, and bringing fresh insights back to better serve our clients and partners.
