I really like this visualization of the importance of controlling/limiting losses in your portfolio. If a portfolio looses 50%, it needs to make 100% to just breakeven!

Below is the chart showing the annual returns of the S&P500, sorted Highest to lowest, since 1950. Only 6 years fall between 5-10%. What this suggests is that very few years are "average".

To follow up on another post, gross domestic product (or GDP) is highly correlated to earnings, which is subsequently tied to index performance. If you break it down it seems simple, a strong economy leads to strong businesses which leads to strong stock performance.

I really like this analysis below. Even if you invested at the absolute worst time, you would have had some pretty amazing annualized returns. That thousand you invested in 1929 at the worst time would be worth 7,200,000 today. Its about time in the market, not timing the market.

This one is entertaining to me. Back on October 2023 there was lots of claims that the 60/40 portfolio was dead in the news. Since that claim, it has returned a decent 29%. Be wary of the news cycle hype. (and maybe go against it)
