Deer are most active at dawn and dusk—especially in rural and wooded areas. Stay alert and keep these safety tips in mind:

• Slow down and scan the roadside
• Use high beams when safe to do so
• If you see one deer, expect more nearby
• Brake firmly—avoid swerving
• Keep a safe following distance
