We use this invested capital to help individuals create income, build assets, and attain greater self-reliance through social finance, social impact real estate & social impact training. We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet,) Mi’kmaq and Peskotomuhkati peoples. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” whi
ch these nations first signed with the British Crown in 1726. The treaties did not deal with the surrender of lands and resources, but recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations. We, the staff and members of our board, pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land. We honour the knowledge keepers and seek their guidance as we strive to develop closer relationships with the Indigenous people of New Brunswick. We honour the experiences of the indigenous people through discussions, reflection and education. We will continue to support indigenous owned businesses & organizations and continously educate ourselves through the many resources available.
