What an awesome kick-off to Seniors Week! We had a lovely time at the Country Fair, handing out fresh popcorn to everyone. Plus, Randall came out on top at the Pie Eating Contest! Great job to the organizers of this event, and all the volunteers that made it happen❤️

Donation Round Up💙 Here's who we've been supporting lately:

RCU donated to the Caroline School Enhancement Committee, as they are upgrading their school grounds - fixing up the football field, putting a track in, and adding wheelchair access from the parking lot!🏫

The Rocky North and South 4-H clubs had their Beef Show & Sale this month, and we donated towards the event and sponsored the Rate of Gain trophies for their awards night.🍀

Rocky Support Services Society is hosting their 4th annual Slo-Pitch tournament fundraiser this weekend, and RCU was happy to be a sponsor!⚾

The Royal Canadian Legion Rocky Mountain House Branch 8 is having their annual golf tournament on May 30th, so we provided some prize bags for the winning team!🏌️‍♂️

Rocky Pro Rodeo is coming up on June 4-7th, and we're proud to be a sponsor. We're looking forward to all the Rodeo Week festivities!🤠

Rocky Credit Union made a donation towards the Safe Grad celebrations for West Central High School. Congratulations Class of 2026!🎓

The date is set for our Shredding Day & BBQ, so mark your calendars! On Thursday, June 18th, bring any papers you need shredded to our parking lot (by donation) then grab a burger at our charity BBQ (cash only). The shredding truck will be here from 10am - 1pm, and our BBQ will be serving from 11am - 1:30pm. All proceeds and donations will be supporting Community Connections Child Care Centre!

A few RCU volunteers had the privilege of passing out ribbons and awards at the 50th Rocky 4-H Beef Show & Sale yesterday! The two clubs (Rocky North 4-H Multi-Club and Rocky South 4-H Beef Club) came together in Caroline to present their steers to the judges, and later sell them at auction. We started our day helping out in the kitchen, then handed out ribbons once the Show started. All these kids worked very hard to raise their steers, and should be very proud. It was wonderful to get to celebrate their achievements! 🍀

Last call for applications! 🚜🌾 Young farmers (18-30) in Central Alberta can apply for this $2500 grant by May 31st.

Rocky Credit Union has proudly served rural communities for over 80 years. We deeply value and appreciate the local men and women in agriculture who work tirelessly to feed our communities. It is more important than ever to support young people who have chosen an agriculture career path and are keeping farming alive, which is why Rocky Credit Union is offering a $2500 grant to a local young farmer.

To be eligible to receive this grant, you must be:
- Age 18-30
- Residing and farming in Central Alberta
- Operating a farm as a main source of income
- A Rocky Credit Union member, or willing to become one should you be selected as the recipient (the grant must be deposited to an RCU account)

If this sounds like a farmer you know, please pass this info along to them!💚

Today was the Educational Agriculture Tour for Grade 4 students! 🐄🌾🐐

Clearwater County and the Rocky Mountain House Agricultural Society have been organizing these field trips to four local farms for many years, and we cannot commend them and the host farms (Terpsma’s, Winchell’s, Adventure Dairy, & Endeavour Equestrian) enough for another fun and informative tour! It’s such a great opportunity for kids to experience a farm first-hand and gain an appreciation for the hard work that goes into agriculture. 🧑‍🌾

RCU brought coffee, muffins, and donuts to all of the farms for the volunteers in the morning, then tagged along for the tour, helping out where we could. We’re always very proud to support this awesome program and all of the volunteers❤️
