Now that it's officially deer season, it's important to know what to do if you get in a collision with a deer:

✔️Move your vehicle to a safe place if possible, and turn on your hazard lights
✔️ Stay away from the animal, and if the animal is lying on the road, shine your headlights towards it to alert other drivers
✔️ Call the police
✔️ Document the incident and take photos
✔️ Contact your insurance agent

Fore the Kids and the Wallacetown Optimist Club have teamed up for a 50/50 raffle to fundraise money "Fore the Kids". Fore the Kids is a committee of Salus Mutual employees who fundraise money to support children in the Elgin County and Chatham-Kent communities. The funds go towards activities, sports, and camps for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to partake in these extracurriculars.

Fore the Kids hosts an annual golf day called "The Longest Day of Golf," which is a big part of raising awareness and funds to give back to children in need.

The second part of the fundraising initiative is the annual 50/50 draw. Tickets are being sold now until November 2nd, and the draw will be held on November 3rd- perfect time to win some cash before the holidays! One lucky winner will win up to $4,000 (winning amount to be determined based on number of tickets sold).

Tickets can be purchased at any Salus Mutual office or by Fore the Kids committeee members. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.
