Your home’s market value and its replacement cost aren’t the same thing. Replacement cost considers what it could cost to rebuild your home at today’s prices, including things like labour, materials, demolition and cleanup.

As temperatures drop, many homeowners are turning on their furnaces for the first time this season. 🌡️ Before you crank up the heat:

✔ Change or clean your furnace filter,
✔ Make sure vents aren't blocked,
✔ Test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms,
✔ Have your furnace and ventilation maintained and cleaned by a professional.

As the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation isn’t a provincial statutory holiday in Saskatchewan, some SGI CANADA broker partners may choose to stay open on Sept. 30. Before you head to a broker’s office, we suggest calling or checking online to see if that office is open.

Three SGI CANADA employees are recipients of the Canadian Broker Network 2026 Underwriter of the Year Awards! Congratulations to these winners!

Jillian Topp, CIP, Commercial Lines Underwriter of the Year and Catherine Thompson, Personal Lines Underwriter of the Year, from Cornerstone Insurance Inc., and Elio Alfredo Sarkees, CIP, Personal Lines Underwriter of the Year, from Sharp Insurance.

This is the first time two SGI CANADA employees have been selected by one brokerage to receive both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Underwriter of the Year awards.

These distinctions, chosen by Canadian Broker Network members, recognize underwriters for their unwavering commitment to providing exceptional client experiences, expert solutions, and support to broker partners. They represent the very best in Canada's underwriting excellence.
