After more than 40 years with SGI CANADA, President and CEO Penny McCune will retire on October 15, 2026.

Known for her authentic leadership and commitment to inclusion, Penny supported meaningful initiatives that will have a lasting impact in Saskatchewan.

Penny’s career began in 1985 as a temporary junior clerk and grew into an extraordinary leadership journey—culminating in her role as SGI CANADA’s first female President and CEO. Throughout her tenure, she has been a driving force in making SGI a modern, customer-focused organization.

We thank Penny for her decades of dedication, leadership, and service, and wish her all the best in her well-earned retirement.

Strong winds are in the forecast in Saskatchewan
Before the storm rolls in, take a few simple steps to help protect your home, vehicle and what matters most:
-Bring in or secure outdoor items like patio furniture, trampolines and bins
-Park your vehicle in a garage or away from trees and loose debris
-Clear eaves troughs so rainwater can drain away from your home
-Trim weak or overgrown branches that could break in high winds
Most SGI CANADA home policies include coverage for damage caused by wind, flying debris and falling trees or branches.
Stay safe, and when severe weather hits, we’re here to help you recover.

SGI CANADA is proud to collaborate on initiatives that support workforce training and development in Saskatchewan. Last week Contractor Connection made a $30,000 investment to the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT). This funding will help aspiring contractors and tradespeople by reducing barriers, strengthening job readiness, and expanding access to technology, training, and required certifications. Thanks to the work of SIIT graduates, SGI CANADA customers can re-open their businesses sooner, return to their homes faster and rebuild with confidence after a major loss.

We were honoured to gather at SIIT, acknowledge we are on Treaty 6 territory, and recognize the continued importance of partnership and reconciliation.
