If you or someone you love lives with a disability in Canada, you need to know about the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). It is hands-down one of the most powerful, yet underutilized, financial tools available.

The RDSP is designed to ensure long-term financial security for people with disabilities, and the government incentives are massive.

Here’s why it matters:
✨ The government can contribute significant grants and bonds
✨ Your savings grow tax-deferred
✨ It can create long-term financial security and independence

⚠️ The Golden Rule: To open an RDSP and get the grants, the beneficiary must be approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) first.

It’s that time again… Census season 🙌

Maybe it’s just me, but I love filling it out. There’s something oddly satisfying about it… until you type in your code and realize you got the short form 😅

Still, it’s an important little task that helps shape decisions about our communities, schools, healthcare, and more—so it’s worth taking a few minutes to complete.

Friendly reminder: every household is required to fill it out by law, so if it’s sitting on your counter… this is your sign ✔️ you have until May 12th!

2026 Savings Challenge 💰
We’re upping our game this year with harder monthly challenges and a new weekly habit.

🎯 My goal: $3,000
🎯 Nick’s goal: $2,000

Each week we’re rounding our bank balance down to the lowest $5 and moving the difference to savings.

We’re also keeping all money from selling stuff separate (and hopefully not touching it this year 🤞).

Small habits add up. Let’s see what 2026 brings!

This year wasn’t perfect—but progress still counts 👏

✔️ $2,062 saved through regular monthly challenges
✔️ $2,000 saved personally
✔️ $175 from selling stuff (even though we had to dip into it for quick cash along the way—real life!)
✔️ $71.80 earned by Junior selling his own things 🥹

Total: over $4,300 saved as a family

Proof that consistency, flexibility, and getting the whole family involved makes a difference. Small wins add up. 💚

📚✨ Book Fair Magic Isn’t Just for Kids! ✨📚

I swear the Scholastic Book Fair hits just as hard as an adult as it did when I was in school. 😍 The smell of new books, the stacks of colourful covers, the urge to buy all the stationery… it never gets old!

I’m so happy I volunteered this year — getting to help the kids find books they’re excited about has been the absolute best part. Their little faces light up the same way mine used to. 🥹❤️
