Sanitary sewer CCTV inspection work is currently taking place in parts of Port Elgin and Southampton as part of our ongoing infrastructure maintenance program.

During inspections, some residents may notice sewer odours or, in rare cases, water movement in toilets. To help prevent issues, please ensure toilet lids are kept closed when not in use, pour water into infrequently used floor drains to maintain the trap seal, and report any unusual sewer odours or drainage concerns to the municipality.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to maintain and improve our wastewater system.

Planned Outage: Port Elgin (May 31, 2026)
All Westario Power customers in Port Elgin will experience a planned outage Sunday, May 31 starting at 7:00AM, for an approximate duration of up to four (4) hours.
This outage is due to ‘Loss of Supply’ from the transmission network.

🚗 What to expect while driving in Saugeen Shores this long weekend

As we head into the Victoria Day long weekend, we are excited to welcome visitors and seasonal residents back to Saugeen Shores! You may notice we are working hard on some road improvements around Town. This includes:
🔸High Street Phase 2 (Huron St to Flag)
🔸Southampton Highway 21 Resurfacing
🔸Turner Street (Bruce Rd 13) Intersection Improvements
🔸Ridge Street Construction and Mini Roundabout on Bruce Rd 25

Street sweeping begins on Monday, May 4!

Annual street sweeping will take place from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm until complete. During this time, please remember to:

• Avoid parking vehicles on residential streets.
• Place garbage and recycling containers away from the edge of the road on collection days.
• Keep basketball and hockey nets away from the edge of the road.
• Be patient while this process takes place – dust and noise are common.
