Itās almost a wrap! Friday, June 28th is my retirement date. After 36 years of working with the most amazing clients and team members, I will be moving on to try something completely different with no schedule, no work computer and only family paperwork. I see my career in three phases. I started with The Mutual Group and worked closely with our manager and my mentor & friend, Reg Madison. I will always be indebted to Reg. I gained invaluable knowledge about the business, professionalism and how to build a positive team culture. In 1998, I left to join Nick working in his office in Port Dover. Together, we grew Childs Financial Services until 2020. The clients who came into our business are still with our company today. They are the loveliest of people. The amazing team members who helped us grow and cared deeply about the business are Carolyn Boehnert & Beatrice Arrouy. Beatrice is still with us. In December of 2020, CA Financial Services officially bought Childs Financial Services although we worked as one team since January of 2020. I donāt know how to describe what a perfect match that has been. I moved into a COO role and have had the biggest challenge of my career. For the last 4 ½ years, I worked closely with Corey to help create what the company is today. We built our admin team with Beatrice, Lynn, Kelly & Nicole who are the cream of the crop. Corey challenged me every step of the way with his vision of the company and making that a reality. If brains could sweat, mine has been for 4 ½ years. Nick & I found our way with our new roles in the company and honestly, without him, I could not have done this job. I thank him for his patience and never-ending support. And a reminder to everyone, Nick is NOT retiring! š Iām ready to pass the baton to Shawn Collett, who brings such positive values & a wealth of knowledge. I canāt leave and not recognize our kids, Dylan & Sadie. They grew up in our business and put up with us working many evenings and weekends and somehow they turned out to be the most amazing & caring adults. And so, here I am. Almost retired and I feel Iām up for this challenge, too!
