The "RRSP win" is a myth for high earners. You aren’t dodging taxes; you’re just procrastinating a massive bill.

If you plan on staying wealthy (which I am positive you do), those future forced withdrawals will be the biggest tax hit of your life.

It’s time to build wealth they can’t tax and I can help - https://mickjacksonassante.com/contact/

Most people use “tax deduction” and “tax credit” like they mean the same thing.

They don’t.

And misunderstanding this is one of the easiest ways to overestimate how much you’re actually saving.

A tax deduction lowers your taxable income.
A tax credit lowers the tax you owe.

That might sound like a small difference, but it’s not.

A deduction depends on your income - the higher your tax bracket, the more valuable it is. A credit is typically fixed - everyone gets roughly the same benefit.

So when you hear things like: “it’s a write-off” or “you’ll get it back at tax time”… it’s not always as straightforward as it sounds.

This is where a lot of people think they’re being strategic, but that gap adds up over time.

You’ve climbed the ladder, scaled the business, and hit the $400k+ mark. But in Canada, the reward for that success is often a 50%+ marginal tax rate.

You aren't just paying your "fair share", you are effectively subsidizing the system while your own net worth velocity stalls.

I am truly honoured by this shoutout from FaceOff For Mental Health. It’s been an absolute privilege to support this tournament for the past 13 years. Youth mental health is a cause very close to my heart, and seeing how this event has grown to help so many in our community is the real reward.

A huge shoutout to Mick Jackson - CI Assante Wealth Management Ltd for 13 straight years as a Platinum Sponsor of the Face Off for Mental Health Charity Golf Tournament!

THIRTEEN!!! That kind of loyalty and support means so much to us. Mick has been part of this tournament for so long, and he’s played a big role in helping it grow into what it is today💚

On top of that, he’s always giving back in extra ways too; donating to our auction and draw baskets every single year and adding so much to the day🫶🏼

It’s not only showing up once… it’s showing up every year and continuing to support something that matters, and that doesn’t go unnoticed!!!

We’d love for the community to show him some love!
It’s businesses like this that make it possible for us to do what we do — support youth mental health🤍❤️💛💚

Thank you, Mick Jackson 👏🏼

Most people consider themselves “on top of” their finances because they earn well, pay their bills, and set money aside when they can, and for a while, that feels like enough.

But being serious about your finances is not just about keeping up, it’s about having structure, knowing where your money is going, why it’s there, and what it’s actually working toward over time.

When you’re ready to take it seriously, that’s when I step in - https://mickjacksonassante.com/contact/

A real strategy brings clarity to your money.

Not just how much you’re saving, but: Where it’s held. How it’s invested. And whether it actually supports your long-term goals.

Without that, most people are just hoping things work out.

There’s a better way to approach it. https://mickjacksonassante.com/contact/

Keeping cash available is smart but keeping too much can silently hold you back.

You need enough money accessible to:
• Cover a few months of living expenses
• Handle something unexpected
• Avoid using debt in an emergency

Beyond that, ask yourself: Is this money sitting still for a reason.... or just out of habit?

Cash feels safe because you can see it, but long-term growth usually doesn’t happen in a savings account.

The goal isn’t to eliminate cash. It’s to keep the right amount, and put the rest to work with intention.

That tax refund feeling? Not a bonus. Not free money.

It’s your own money… returned after overpaying all year.

And while there are smart ways to plan for that (RRSPs, tax strategy, etc.), most people still don’t have a plan once it lands.

Spend it? Save it? Invest it?

Let’s make it intentional. https://mickjacksonassante.com/contact/

A bonus can feel like extra money. But it’s not extra. It’s income that hasn’t been assigned a job yet.

Before you spend it, slow it down.
Ask yourself:
• Does this pay down something that’s costing me?
• Does this build something that grows?
• Or does this disappear in a few months?

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying it. Just don’t let enjoyment be the only plan.

High performers are used to being rewarded for action.

Work harder → results.
Move faster → progress.
Stay involved → better outcome.

That mindset is what built their income, their business, their career. But long-term investing asks for a different skill set.

It asks for patience when nothing looks exciting. Consistency when there’s no visible change yet. And the discipline to not interfere with something that’s working.

The plan doesn’t need more activity. It needs time.
