Great news for variable rate mortgage clients. The Bank of Canada did not increase their rate this morning so no changes to variable rate mortgages.

Happy New Year everyone! Just a quick reminder for those of you with a variable rate mortgage that the next Bank of Canada rate announcement is next Wednesday January 9th. Please keep your eyes on my page to see what happens as I will be sure to post it here.

As anticipated, the Bank of Canada has increased their interest rate by 0.25% bringing the prime rate to 3.95%. This will affect anyone that has a variable rate mortgage or any other lending product that is based on the prime rate. If you have any questions as to how this will affect your mortgage, please do not hesitate to contact me today.
