Ontario Insurance Tip of the Day!

"Did you know your credit score impacts the rate you pay for home or tenant insurance?!
Its a soft check, meaning it does not harm, nor visible on your credit report, but Insurers do know whether you pay your bills on time.

For example, you pay $1000/year for your personal home insurance; you sell, and the new buyer moves in. Just because the house specs are the same, you could pay a different rate than the previous owners.

Scammers are increasing! Please be careful choosing Insurance products and providers.

A few tips!

1. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

2. If the grammar is broken in the ad, be careful

3. Look up the brokerage and/or individual broker below. This will tell you if they're actively licensed to sell Insurance in Ontario

4. There's no such product as "Temporary Car Insurance" unless you create a policy and cancel by paying a cancellation fee. (This method is not recommended because it may look suspicious to the next Insurance company)

5. Interac, Cash upfront, Cash monthly pay is illegal to accept as a broker. We do not handle money for direct billing Insurance companies

6. Stay clear of ads that state "Cheap Price" or "Cheap Rates". Us brokers do not control the rates Insurance companies provide. Rates are calculated on insurance experience, type of car, type of coverage, usage, postal code, license history and more!
