Critical Illness insurance has been one of my most popular products over the past year+.

Critical Illness insurance provides a one time lump sum tax free payout if any of the 25 covered conditions listed in the picture below occur.

The numbers in this example are based on a 22 year old, male, non-smoker. This is a 20 year payment plan for $100,000 of coverage that costs $120 a month. This means that if a client was diagnosed with any of the covered conditions below, they would receive $100,000. This plan also includes a great option called the return of premium rider.

With the return of premium rider (second picture) it gives you the option to cash out your policy any year after year 20 for every dollar in premiums you paid if no claim was made. This means after the 20th year you would be eligible to keep the policy in force and not pay premiums anymore, or cash it out for $28,816. This rider makes this policy act like a savings account while giving you financial protection from unforeseen health issues.
