Advanced Capital Corporation was proud to attend the 2026 PCMA Conference, joining professionals from across Canada's private capital markets for a day of insight, discussion, and connection.

Today, our sister company Advanced Mortgage Investment Corporation surpassed $100 million in funded transactions.

What we think is remarkable is that the Advanced MIC team has accomplished this milestone without any loss related to default, no files in serious arrears, and no history of power of sale or foreclosures since the MIC was started back in 2013.

The Advanced Group of Companies will be welcoming mortgage industry veteran Sean Reid to the team starting June 14.

Sean will step into the role of Director of Operations for Advanced Mortgage Investment Corporation, Advanced Alternative Lending, and Advanced Capital Corporation. He brings years of knowledge from his time at Home Trust, Genworth, and Investors Group.

At Advanced, Sean will participate in the companies' continued growth and acceleration.

Michael Hapke appeared on CTV Ottawa Morning on Feb. 9, 2021, speaking about the risks and rewards of investing in mortgages.

When considering using a mortgage as an investment, you must consider if it is suitable for you. Does the investment match your personal risk tolerance? Is it something that you are comfortable with, and is it something that you understand?

When looking at mortgage investments there are a few ways you can start. You can find mutual funds that would be some type of mortgage investment within in, but that is not a direct mortgage investment.

A direct mortgage investment could be investing on a one-to-one basis or investing in a professionally managed pool of mortgages (where multiple investors invest in multiple mortgages and thereby diversify their individual risk).

Whenever looking at any investment, there is risk associated with it. You have to determine the amount of risk you can take on in exchange for the amount of reward you are looking to gain.

In terms of Ottawa real estate, we know that the supply is very low, and the demand is sitting very high. With Advanced MIC, Ottawa real estate is the underlying asset into this investment. The Ottawa market is showing a lot of growth potential and is currently very secure.
