Our in-person event for benefits advisors and industry stakeholders is coming up on Wednesday, October 15th in Vaughan, ON "The Future of Benefits: Private Health Deep Dive with GroupBenefitz".

Pharmacogenetic science helps tailor treatment selection based on your unique genetic makeup. The EU-funded Medications Data Interoperability Project collected nearly 1 million medication names across Canada, the USA, the UK, and the EU. Pillcheck technology flagged 24% of these medications as having pharmacogenetic indicators—closely matching findings from the UK Biobank study, where nearly a quarter of 487,409 participants had been prescribed drugs to which they were likely to have an atypical response.

April 2nd is always one of my favourite days…it’s National Employee Benefits Day and it also happens to be my birthday, where the icing on the cake is that I get to say my dad joke that I was born to be in this business.

On a day where the news will be flooded with economic uncertainty due to tariffs, this year’s theme for National Employee Benefits Day is appropriately Financial Wellness, where organizations are encouraged to explore how they can help their teams be “future-ready” through financial education and support. Similar to how employee productivity is impacted when someone deals with physical and mental stress, financial stress also reduces an employee’s ability to work at their best.

There continues to be tremendous stigma around talking about debt, and getting the right help when it’s needed. We’re also not only talking about just low income earners. To help people get the right help at the right time, The GroupBenefitz Platform Inc. has formed alliances with some pretty remarkable people running robust human-supported programs for financial wellness including a few of my favourites, the The Credit Counselling Society | nomoredebts.org and the Enriched Academy.
