I'm Jacquie Bushell, a mortgage broker dedicated to guiding clients through the home financing journey, now proudly serving both the Okanagan and Ottawa, including all the surrounding areas. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer, self-employed, or looking to tap into your home equity, my goal is to make the mortgage process as transparent and stress-free as possible. On a personal note, I’m a proud mom to two incredible grown children, Andrew and Darby. Andrew, an actor, shares his life with his partner, Maya, while Darby, a teacher, is building a life with Petar. And most importantly, I’m a very happy grandma to my granddaughter, Avery, who fills my life with joy and purpose. Beyond my family, I’m passionate about cooking, travelling, and gardening—activities that bring me joy and keep me grounded. I love to stay active with regular workouts and believe in the power of helping others succeed, both in life and in business. My German Shepherd, Walter, is my loyal companion and a bit of a local celebrity—follow his adventures on social media for a touch of fun and some mortgage wisdom! I believe in proactive involvement, both in my neighbourhood and the mortgage industry, creating connections beyond business. Saturday was our second annual Oktoberfest street party. We had a great afternoon bringing neighbours together, playing games, sharing food and welcoming some new faces to Wardlaw.

A definite highlight was the debut of Wardlaw GRRRRR, a b**r created by our very own Julia Buck and named after our street, with Walter proudly featured on the label. Having our own neighbourhood b**r may be hard to top next year.

A special thank you to the of Kelowna for providing the tools and support that make events like ours possible, and to our neighbours Craig, Darcy, Heidi, Falco, Anita and Julia for pitching in and helping make the afternoon such a success.

And, of course, thank you to Klaus for manning the barbecue and turning out perfectly cooked sausages.

Our street continues to change and grow, and events like Oktoberfest give us a chance to meet new neighbours, reconnect with familiar ones and spend an afternoon together as a community.
