Hope that everyone enjoyed their New Year’s celebrations!

At the end of each year, we all tend to reflect and set out new goals for the coming year. For a number of reasons, 2017 was very rewarding, but personally quite a challenging year for me as well.

As some of you know, I organize a charity event each year for a cause that is very important to me. In March 2017, Deschamps Dash held our annual Bowling to Strikeout Cancer event, raising over $30K! Very proud to say that we’ve raised more than $80K over the past few years in support of Lung Cancer Canada. As always, the great cast of friends and family who volunteer their time each year to help out is very appreciated.

In late 2016, planning started to organize a festival in the east end of the city. Orléans Festivals put on it’s first festival in 2017. The Orleans Craft Beer Festival benefited from some great weather over three days in June and I’m excited to say that work is well underway for the 2018 event (announcement coming very soon…).

Add in the busy 9-5 job, balancing hectic work schedules between Amber and and I, the work life balance quickly becomes anything but that
More time for family and friends is in the cards for 2018. My two girls are growing up way too fast.

With all that in mind, as of December 31, 2017, I’m NO LONGER WORKING AS A MORTGAGE AGENT. I’ve been fortunate to meet so many great people over the past several years and have enjoyed helping a number you find the right mortgage solution for your purchase, refinancing, or renewal.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Susanna Penning, AMP for a few years now and can say hands down that she’s the best in the business. Thanks for the support Susanna! This time last year the Bank of Canada was talking about lowering rates while suggesting that an increase wouldn’t happen until mid 2018.
