Kawser Jamal, CEO of Ascend Technology Inc. and Zoober Pay, received a special recognition at the 40th FOBANA Convention 2026, held in Los Angeles, California.
The three-day convention was held from September 4 to 6 at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City. Organized by the Bangladesh Association of California, the event brought together thousands of Bangladeshi expatriates, business leaders, community representatives, and distinguished guests from across the United States and Canada.
Speaking at the convention’s “Hollywood Red Carpet Business Lunch,” Kawser Jamal highlighted the immense potential of the global Bangladeshi diaspora to contribute to the country’s economic development, technological advancement, financial innovation, and employment generation.
As the CEO of Ascend Technology Inc. and Zoober Pay, Kawser Jamal brings together leadership across two vital sectors: global technology and financial services. Ascend Technology Inc. supports businesses through technology solutions, sourcing, and operational capabilities, while Zoober Pay is working to make cross-border financial services and remittance solutions more accessible, efficient, and inclusive.
In his address, Kawser Jamal urged NRBs worldwide to use their international experience, professional expertise, business networks, and investment capacity to support Bangladesh’s long-term development. He encouraged them to invest in promising industries, introduce advanced technologies, develop innovative business ventures, and create international-standard employment opportunities in the country.
A central message of his speech was a strong appeal to the Government of Bangladesh to establish a dedicated 𝗡𝗥𝗕 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲. He emphasized that such an initiative could provide expatriate Bangladeshis with a structured and supportive platform to invest, establish businesses, transfer technology, and create employment in Bangladesh.
He also called for simpler administrative procedures, transparent policies, investment protection, appropriate incentives, and an effective one-stop service for NRB and international investors. According to Kawser Jamal, a dedicated NRB Economic Zone—supported by a genuinely business-friendly regulatory environment—could help transform the knowledge, networks, and financial capacity of the Bangladeshi diaspora into sustainable national development.
During the convention, Kawser Jamal also held an important discussion with 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵’𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀’ 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Their exchange focused on the engagement of expatriate Bangladeshis, investment opportunities, and the role of NRB entrepreneurs in supporting Bangladesh’s economic progress.
At the event, Kawser Jamal was presented with a special award recognizing his leadership and contributions to business and the Bangladeshi expatriate community. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers and described the honor as further inspiration to continue working through Ascend Technology Inc. and Zoober Pay to create a broader and more meaningful impact for Bangladesh.
Kawser Jamal’s participation, address, and recognition at the 40th FOBANA Convention represent not only a significant personal achievement but also a proud milestone for Ascend Technology Inc. and Zoober Pay. The occasion reflects the strength, leadership, and enduring commitment of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs worldwide to the advancement of their homeland.
