A game-changing federal tax rebate has just officially become law! If you're looking to buy your first home, you could save up to $50,000 in GST.
Here is the breakdown of the new First-Time Home Buyers' GST/HST Rebate:
* 100% GST Rebate: The 5% federal GST is fully eliminated on newly built homes priced up to $1 million.
* Partial Rebate: For new homes priced between $1 million and $1.5 million, the rebate is reduced on a sliding scale.
* Maximum Savings: Eligible buyers can get back up to $50,000 on their purchase.
Who Qualifies? ✅
* You must be a first-time home buyer (haven't owned a home in the last 4 years).
* The home must be a new build or a substantially renovated property.
* The property must be used as your primary residence.
* Applies to purchase agreements signed on or after March 20, 2025.
