Wherry & Associates is proud to present Art for Alzheimer's, a month-long art exhibition and fundraiser celebrating the remarkable career of Canadian illustrator and painter Doug Martin while raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society of York Region.

Doug's work spans nearly five decades and his artwork includes award-winning illustrations, book covers, magazines, advertising campaigns, and public commissions. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to view and purchase original works collected from throughout his distinguished career.

What an incredible evening at Tommy Thompson Park!
Our guests had the rare opportunity to see multiple Northern Saw-whet Owls up close, something that many birders wait years to experience. These tiny owls are one of Ontario's smallest owl species, standing only about 20 cm tall. Despite their size, they are skilled nocturnal hunters and are known for their big yellow eyes, excellent hearing, and remarkable ability to blend into their surroundings.
Seeing so many Northern Saw-whet Owls in one outing was truly special and made for an unforgettable experience for everyone who attended.

A huge thank you to the dedicated staff and volunteers at TRCA and Tommy Thompson Park for sharing their knowledge, passion, and expertise throughout the event. Your work helps connect people with nature and inspires appreciation for wildlife conservation.

And thank you to all of our wonderful guests for joining us, asking great questions, and making the day so enjoyable. We are thrilled that everyone had such a great time!

100 years ago today, IG established our first office in Canada

Our story began in April 1926 with a $200 cheque and instructions from Investors Syndicate in Minneapolis to open its first Canadian office. Soon after, our operations took root in Winnipeg, where prairie values like hard work, commitment to community, and innovation became embedded in who we are — and continue to guide us today.
