We know there have been a lot of texts surfacing lately that can sometimes appear legitimate, but are not!

When in doubt, never click on a link from an unknown source!

Saskatchewan RCMP does not send summons for traffic tickets by text message.

We are once again receiving reports of fraudulent text messages claiming recipients have an outstanding traffic citation.

These messages are not legitimate. Do not click on any links in the message or send payment or personal information.

If you receive one of these texts:
- Don’t text the scammer back.
- Block their phone number immediately.
- Don’t send them any money or gift cards.
- Keep records of the texts.

If you are unsure of the legitimacy of a text message or believe you are the victim of a fraud, please contact your local RCMP detachment at 310-RCMP.

If you receive a text message that you believe to be a scam or fraudulent, you can report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. You can report by phone (Toll free: 1-888-495-8501) or online here: https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/report-signalez-eng.htm.

The Watrous Hawks claimed their first-ever championship in the division with a decisive performance, while the Lanigan Pirates showed determination and effort by getting to the fourth round of the provincial playoffs.
