🚗 BIG Changes Are Coming to Ontario Auto Insurance — July 1, 2026 🚗
Starting July 1st, Ontario drivers will see some of the biggest auto insurance changes in years.
Here’s the important part 👇
Some Accident Benefits that are currently INCLUDED in your policy will become OPTIONAL at renewal.
What stays mandatory: ✔️ Medical benefits
✔️ Rehabilitation coverage
✔️ Attendant care coverage
What may become optional: ⚠️ Income replacement
⚠️ Caregiver benefits
⚠️ Housekeeping/home maintenance
⚠️ Non-earner benefits
⚠️ And more
This means future policies may be more customizable — but also easier to accidentally underinsure yourself if you’re only focused on price.
💡 Lower premium doesn’t always mean better protection.
These coverages can become incredibly important after a serious accident, especially for: • Self-employed individuals
• Families with children
• People without strong workplace benefits
• Anyone relying on their income to pay bills
My advice?
Before renewing your policy after July 1st, make sure you fully understand what’s included… and what may no longer be.
