54 years! Kolo u Srcu! Heart is in Kolo! Our dance ensemble has been established 48 years ago. We dance in the original Serbian costumes.

We currently have three age groups: Youngest age from 4 - 9 years, Middle from 10 - 14 years, Oldest from 14+ years old. Our goal is to foster a love of Serbian culture and heritage for generations to come. Not only do the children learn to dance traditional dances, but they are exposed to a wonderfully supportive community of peers. Many of our dancers return to the group as proud parents, bringing their own children to learn traditional dances and form lifelong friendships and bonds with Serbian community. Our choreographies are complex, dynamic with lots of movements and swift footwork. Typically, we manage to add two to three new choreographies during the school year (September - Jun). Through authentic dance and costumes our choreographies are telling stories about old Serbian inhabitants, their culture, life, occupations and traditions. Our dance performances - choreographies are between 8 – 10 minutes in durations. After being in the existence for over 40 years we are proud to announce that our wardrobe is full of colorful costumes including all regions from Serbia. Diaspora Hellenic Dance Group was founded in 2007, and continues to be a welcoming and joyful place for members to learn more about their heritage, make connections, and have fun. The adults group is taught by Constantinos Panagiotopoulos, who has over 20 years of teaching experience. This group is extremely grateful for the opportunity to share our culture with others.

Welcoming our friends from Minotavri once again at Kolo Fest October 24th! The Cretan Association of British Columbia has been proudly preserving and sharing the traditions of Crete in Vancouver since 1967, making it one of the longest-standing Greek associations in the province.

Cretan culture is deeply rooted in music, community, and dance. Their dances are known for their energy, passion, and strong connection to the island’s musical traditions, and it has always been an important way for Cretans to celebrate their heritage and bring generations together.

Excited to announce that our friends from Polonez will be attending Kolo Fest October 24th! Polonez Dance Group was founded 1989 through the initiative of Steve and Lucy Ozdoba and choreographer Jacek Niemirski in association with Zgoda Polish Friendship Society, which is located in Vancouver. In October 2005 Polonez Polish-Canadian Society was establish and started a new chapter as an independent society.

The success of the group has been possible due to the strong support of the Polish community, and hard volunteer work from the parents involved with Polonez for many years. The Polish Folk Dancers are continuously working to further the Polish culture in Vancouver, with our travels and performances in Canada and all over the world.
