This Thanksgiving, we’re especially grateful for the wonderful clients who put their trust in us, the amazing community we’re proud to call home, and the friendships we’ve built along the way.

We’re fortunate to live and work in such a caring and supportive community, and we never take that for granted.

Gates Insurance will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honour the children who never returned home and the Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. We encourage everyone to take time to listen to Indigenous voices, learn about the lasting impacts of residential schools, and reflect on how we can each contribute to reconciliation—on this day and throughout the year.

What an incredible community we live in!

Thanks to your generosity, the 2026 Rewind 89.3/ Gates Insurance Food Drive raised an amazing $17,139.10 in cash, PLUS a tremendous amount of non-perishable food to support 10 Valley food banks!

A huge thank you to Rewind 89.3 Aviva, Sobeys, the Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise, District 7815, Greenwich Fire Department, Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia, Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia our Gates Insurance team, and all the incredible volunteers who helped make this year’s food drive such a success!

To every individual, family and local business that donated, THANK YOU! Every dollar and every item of food will help make a difference for our neighbours who need it most.

It takes a community to make a difference, and the Annapolis Valley showed up in a BIG way! 💚

🥫❤️ IT TAKES A COMMUNITY!

What an incredible day of neighbours helping neighbours at the annual Rewind 89.3 & Gates Insurance Food Drive!

Gates Insurance is proud to donate $3,500 to support 10 food banks across the Annapolis Valley! We know the need is greater than ever, and we’re grateful to be able to do our part to help fill those shelves and support families right here in our community.

A HUGE thank you to our friends at Rewind 89.3, fellow Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise, District 7815, the Greenwich Fire Department, our amazing Gates Insurance team & all volunteers for coming together to collect food and cash donations, count the funds, and help make today such a success!

And, of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by to donate. Whether it was a bag of groceries, a few dollars, or a whole lot of change, every contribution makes a difference!

A special shoutout to our friends at Aviva Insurance for once again partnering with us to support this important community initiative.
