Did you know that carbon monoxide (CO) is a silent, invisible threat in your home? It’s odourless, colourless, and potentially deadly. Protect yourself and your loved ones with these essential safety tips:
🛠️ Install CO detectors on every level of your home and near sleeping areas
🔧 Keep appliances in check with regular maintenance, especially gas-powered ones
🌬️ Ensure proper ventilation in areas with fuel-burning devices
🚨 Know the symptoms of CO poisoning: headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion
🏃‍♀️ Act fast in an emergency: evacuate immediately and call 911

Important: starting January 1, 2026, the Ontario Fire Code will require a carbon monoxide alarm on each level of your home and outside all sleeping areas.
