Big changes are coming to insured mortgages starting December 15, 2024:

๐Ÿก The price cap for insured mortgages is increasing from $1M to $1.5M, allowing buyers to avoid the 20% down payment on homes up to $1.5M!

๐Ÿ“… The 30-year mortgage amortization, previously only available to a small portion of first-time homebuyers, is now expanding to all first-time homebuyers and those purchasing new builds. This is a significant shift from the typical 25-year limit, giving buyers more flexibility with lower monthly payments.

With interest rates trending down, this is great news for homebuyers across BC and Canada, making it easier to enter the housing market and afford more homes!
