Stepped away from ceremonies this weekend to welcome people to Nanaimo.
Friends showed up in all the best ways.
Different context… same kind of magic.

p.s. If you’ve got 5 people eloping in Nanaimo…do I have the hats for you. 😄
Thx Kronis MP for the great shots!

I've never been part of a giveaway before… but apparently that changed this year 😄
Somewhere back in the depths of last year, Tasha Cline Photography dreamed this up and pulled me in.
And honestly, it was such a good GOOD day.

Chickens wandered in like they were on the guest list. 🐓
A wee lad stole all our hearts.
And a last-minute pivot to follow the sun (beautifully called by Sarah ) let us soak in some March magic.

Just look at these wondrous captures.

So grateful to have been part of this one.

Yup.
I’m still here.
But the ceremonies I’ve done so far this year are simply not social media material.

An adventure elopement with a couple who wanted to get married quietly before the “public” wedding date.

Two wonderful women, together 39 years…who joked that neither of them wanted to get down on one knee to propose… in case they couldn’t get back up again.

And a last-minute wedding before a parent went into hospice. Full of gratitude, love, family, connection, and a few very well-earned tears in a sunny driveway before an arch made with a fake Christmas tree.

None of them were styled. Or staged.

But there was lots of substance.
And I loved every single one.

Turns out the most meaningful ceremonies don’t care much about social media.

(And if you’ve stood with me at a ceremony like this, you know exactly what I mean.)

January 1, 2026
A fresh calendar.
A deep breath.
And the quiet sense that something new is already unfolding.

I’m not big on resolutions.
But I AM big on intention.

This year, I’m choosing presence over posting.
Depth over noise.
The work itself over the work of talking about the work.
(Get it? Got it? Good!)

So- fewer posts from me.
More showing up where it actually matters…in the moment.

If you’re stepping into 2026 with hope, tenderness, curiosity,
or even a bit of “what the heck am I doing?”
Well, here we are. Right on time.

Here’s to thresholds.
Here’s to meaning.
Here’s to doing less… and doing it well.

Yes, this is their wedding party. When you’ve built epic friendships over a lifetime, you hand-pick every one with care—and bring them ALL in.
The ceremony was heartfelt , the party pure joy. And Emily from Heyday Events Co. was the best team captain ever.

What better thing to post on the hottest day of the year than the coolest wedding so far... in more ways than one.

J + J wanted to elope on one of their favourite beaches.
The challenge? It’s local… and almost everyone they love lives nearby.
So instead, they pulled off the biggest “elopement” ever.
A Saturday morning in April, everyone down to the beach. Even the dogs in a decorated stroller.

We collected rocks (like they do) and started a ritual they can repeat every anniversary (ideally on a beach that’s just a bit more tropical).

Then it was off to Stoked for a pizza party...one that was heartfelt and just the right amount of cheesy (sorry can't help myself.).

We don't know who made this, but it sure made us laugh! 🤣

This is the year of all things! Tomorrow, I’m heading into a summer camp wedding where family and friends are taking the reins. It’s going to be boisterous, chaotic, and so much fun! I’ll be getting there early to keep an eye on the countless things that often get overlooked when you're not working with a team of pros.

And then, on the other end of the spectrum, I recently had the pleasure of working with the amazing Louise Southwood, a world-class artist who's new to the island. We had every cue nailed, and she was an absolute joy to collaborate with. Check her out on YouTube—she’s truly a gem.

I love wrangling chaos. I love that nice quiet nod from a pro. I guess I love it all... :)
