There’s something about this time of year that hits a little differently when you’re a parent. As so many of my clients are preparing to send their kids back to post-secondary, I find myself in that same boat this year. My youngest is heading back to Walsh University in Ohio to start his sophomore year. 🎓🏫

After having him home for the summer, it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone. We’ve packed in lots of family time, including camping trips with his older sister, visits to some of our favourite places, and adventures to a few new ones. 🏕️❤️

Now, as the house gets a little quieter, I’m reminded just how quickly these seasons of life pass. As a parent, you’re so busy making memories that sometimes you don’t realize how special those everyday moments really are.

To all the parents sending their kids back to school, whether it’s their first year or they’re heading into their sophomore, junior or senior year—I’m right there with you. ❤️

Here’s to new adventures, growing independence, and learning to embrace the quiet house… even if we’re not quite ready for it yet. 🥹🎓

⛳ What a fantastic day at the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce Member's Open on July 10th!

BMO was proud to sponsor the Ladies Longest Drive Competition, and it was wonderful to connect with so many members of our local business community while enjoying a great day on the course.

A special thank you to the Chamber for hosting another successful event that brought together professionals from across the region to build relationships, share ideas, and support local business.

This event was a true team effort, with representatives from across BMO working together, including Private Wealth, Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Retail Banking, and Mortgage Specialists. It was a great opportunity to showcase how our teams collaborate to support individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and businesses at every stage of their financial journey.

Congratulations to all the golfers, prize winners, and especially the winner of the Ladies Longest Drive!

Shout out to my team members, Cummings, Razzaghi, Lawal, Gallo, Walker, thank you all for your support, laughs and conversations!

We look forward to continuing to support the Greater Nanaimo business community and strengthening the relationships that help our region thrive.

There’s a lot of focus right now on AI and the future of work, but one thing is clear: this isn’t just about jobs; it’s about how work itself is evolving.

At the Conference of Montreal, Mona Malone, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of People, Culture and Brand at BMO, joined a panel exploring how organizations can use AI strategically, help employees find purpose as roles shift, and keep leadership accountable through change.
