Me. Stephanie Bourassa, Founder of Bourassa Notaires started her firm only a few years after graduating and it has grown tremendously since. Originally from a small town in Quebec called Joliette, from the age of nine she knew she wanted to become a lawyer. “I changed my mind to specialize as a Notary, but knew I wanted to stand up for people and help everyone have a better chance with me on their side” she recalls about her decision.

When speaking about what motivates her, she notes “ Ever since I was young, I have always had a vision of how I wanted my life to be, I always looked at life differently from the rest of the world. “I always believed in my dreams”. I am also a very good manager with my own ideas, and these are qualities that have always helped me. For me, being an entrepreneur means knowing how to organize well and how to intervene well with these employees and of course the customers. People forget that without our employees we are nothing in the sense that the company does not run. I value my employees and treat them with the outmost loyalty, which is why they’ve stayed with me since the beginning”.

Don't hesitate to ask all the questions that come to mind in relation to the properties you visit: the age of the roof, heating costs, the compliance of the fireplace or woodstove with the requirements of the insurance companies, the age of the windows and the water heater, the assets included in the price of the property, the neighbourhood, the renovations to be done, etc.

Your real estate broker will help you find your property. Tell them about your budget, your lifestyle, the type of neighbourhood you are looking for and give him/her your mortgage pre-authorization. They will schedule visits, advise you during negotiations and help you complete the offer to purchase.

L’offre d’achat est acceptée, l’inspection est satisfaisante, le prêt hypothécaire est obtenu: Il ne reste plus qu’à signer l’acte de vente chez le notaire.
Le notaire s’occupe des aspects juridiques du transfert de propriété de l’immeuble et de son financement hypothécaire. Il fournit l’acte d’hypothèque et l’acte d’achat et de vente, rédigé selon l’offre d’achat, qui transfère la propriété de l’immeuble du vendeur à l’acheteur.

This credit is in addition to the $625 offered by the federal government since 2009, for a total of $1,375. Claim the benefits and credits that are right for you when you do your own tax returns or, even better, to make sure you don't forget anything, have your tax returns filed by a professional.

Be sure to tell your accountant that you have purchased a new home. He or she will check to see if you qualify for this credit.
