The Desautels Micro-Finance Competition (DFC) is a student-run initiative focusing on the areas of sustainability, entrepreneurship and the social context of business. Since its inception, the DFC has brought together a diverse group of McGill students from different faculties to work on real-life cases relating to sustainability. Founded by two students in 2015, DFC is a competition overseen by t
he Management Undergraduate Society of McGill. After two years of successfully executed events, DFC is now expanding its variety of activities to introduce speaker panels on subjects relating to the social context of business. DFC's ultimate aim is to promote global and sustainable social responsibility in a hands-on manner. By competing, students will not only gain an insight on the various issues that various kinds of entrepreneurs are facing but also into how the practice of microcredit can positively impact developing communities through financial empowerment.
