The government isn’t coming to save you, it can barely cover its own tab.
The US national debt officially crossed $40 Trillion. According to data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, that equals:
👤 ~$117,000 owed per person (340M population)
💼 ~$250,000 owed per taxpayer (160M filers)
To put that in perspective, annual interest payments alone on this debt now cost more than the entire US national defense budget.
When government debt spirals, three things usually follow:
1️⃣ Taxes rise to cover exploding interest costs.
2️⃣ Inflation creeps back as money gets printed.
3️⃣ Purchasing power drops for everyday families.
You can’t control federal fiscal policy, but you can control your own finances. The best time to lock in your personal financial strategy was yesterday. The second best time is right now.
