Last week, Toronto was labelled the loneliest city in Canada. Post-pandemic life, coupled with feeling overwhelmed by affordability, has caused a significant rise in depression and anxiety. Having had someone in my family diagnosed with breast cancer this year, I am thrilled to learn that Ontario is taking steps towards breast cancer early detection. Starting in fall 2024, Ontario women over 40 years old (previously over 50) can self refer for a mammogram every 2 years.

Ontario is lowering the age for regular, publicly funded breast cancer screenings from 50 to 40, which Health Minister Sylvia Jones says will help with early detection.

Another article on the topic of mortgage renewal, which has been a point of discussion in my household lately. Should we renew our mortgage, or refinance it at another institution? Life is a balancing act.

Many Canadian homeowners are facing sticker shock with their monthly payments as their mortgage comes up for renewal.
