As of July 1, 2026, some accident benefits that were previously included in every Ontario auto insurance policy will be optional. Here’s what you need to know when purchasing a policy, or when it’s time to renew.

Just FYI, for ON drivers.

Be very careful with your auto ins renewal cos few of the coverages are going to be excluded by default eff 2026/07/01, don't just decide by how low the auto insurance premium is, make sure you are aware of certain things that's excluded eff 2026 July 1st or you will be taken by surprise if there is an accident.

Anyone in ON, having renewal eff prior to July 1st 2026, is gonna have same coverages as per your current auto insurance policy, so no need to worry, for them it's next renewal after July 1st, 2026 when these changes would take in effect.
