It’s BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK!

No doubt if you are out and about in the mornings you’ve seen the neighborhood kids walking to school or waiting for the bus. As traffic picks on our streets let’s exercise a little more caution. Some good points to remember:

In school zones, the speed is typically reduced. Adjust your speed accordingly.

On most mornings as you drive by the school, you will have cars parked on the side with parents letting out their kids. All the more reason to slow down as sometimes kids may dart out from in between cars to get across the street!

Be patient with the kids and the crossing guard. We all walk at different speeds. It can be frustrating to have to wait since you are trying to get to work but safety for all should be our focus.

And remember, when those red lights are flashing you must STOP. When the school bus driver turns them off, give it a second or two before you try to get by. Proceed with caution!

Safer driving around school will protect us all!!!
