Farmers rise before dawn, battle the elements and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty – all to put food on tables from coast to coast to coast. And that resilience is the foundation our company was built on 80 years ago.

In 1945, a small group of Prairie farmers faced a challenge only they truly understood. When traditional insurers wouldn’t meet their needs, they banded together. What started as a way to protect their own financial futures grew into something greater: a co-operative for their neighbours, their communities and their country.

Eight decades later, the company they founded – Co-operators – has become one of Canada’s largest homegrown financial service providers. Though times have changed, we haven’t forgotten our roots. Our commitment to the Canadian farming industry remains as strong today as it was in 1945. We know that no matter what farmers encounter – trade disputes, market volatility, unpredictable weather and more – they always show up. We’ll always be proud to stand strong with them.
