Canada has a new top stolen car -
The Toyota RAV4 unseats the Highlander as 2024’s most stolen car

The remaining 9 of the top 10 stolen cars in Canada are:
2. The second most stolen vehicle by number of thefts (2,018) is the Dodge Ram 1500 Series. This has been the second most stolen car since 2022. This truck has a theft rate of 0.39%, out of the 521,734 Dodge Ram vehicles insured nationwide.
3. Honda CR-V (1,911 stolen; 0.37% theft rate)
4. Ford F150 Series (1,833 stolen; 0.31% theft rate)
5. Honda Civic (1,797 stolen; 0.26% theft rate)
6. Jeep Wrangler (1,491 stolen; 1.03% theft rate)
7. Chevrolet/GMC Silverado/Sierra 1500 Series (1,192 stolen; 0.20% theft rate)
8. Toyota Highlander (1,141 stolen; 0.90% theft rate)
9. Toyota Tundra (1,129 stolen; 1.52% theft rate)
10. Lexus RX Series (1,124 stolen, 1.14% theft rate)

Notably, SUVs and trucks account for nine out of the Top 10 stolen vehicles.

In Alberta and Atlantic Canada, the Dodge Ram 1500 Series is the top stolen vehicle. In Ontario, it’s the Honda CR-V, and in Quebec, the Toyota RAV4.

These vehicles do drawn higher insurance premiums than those lower down on the theft list. You can offset some of the increased premium AND make yours more recoverable by installing a TAG anti theft tracking system, widely available through the Speedy Glass stores.

“The P.J. Dermody Insurance Brokers Classic at The Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto on Monday, July 15, 2024, marks the midway point in the 2024 GTA AM Tour Golf Season. Tour Players have helped support our endeavor to bring awareness to The Darling Home For Kids and the fabulous work they do providing high-quality respite, residential and hospice palliative care services for children who are medically fragile and technology dependent. This years event raised $5,005 bringing the total funds raised to over $40,000 for The Darling Home. This speaks volumes to the Goodwill and Generosity of the GTA AM Tour Golf Community.”
