Being self-employed doesn’t mean getting a mortgage has to be complicated, but it can mean we need to look at your income a little differently.
Maybe you pay yourself a salary or dividends. Maybe your tax returns show less income than what your business is actually generating.
That’s where knowing the different options matters.
Depending on your situation, we may be able to look at traditional income, a stated income program, or alternative lending options using bank statements.
There isn’t one “self-employed mortgage.”
The right strategy depends on how your business is structured, how you pay yourself, your down payment, credit, debts and what you’re trying to accomplish.
So if you’ve ever thought, **“I’m self-employed… I probably won’t qualify,”** don’t count yourself out based on your tax return alone.
Let’s look at the whole picture first. 🤍
