NO RATE HIKE TODAY! Bank of Canada held its target for the overnight rate of 5% The Bank is also continuing its policy of quantitative tightening.

Well Bank of Canada has increased its over night lending rate by 0.25%. Prime rate will increase from 6.70% to 6.95%. If you are currently in a variable rate product and are feeling the pinch and are thinking of locking into a fixed rate lets have a conversation to see if this is a good fit for you.

Bank of Canada paused the interest rate hikes for the first time in a year. It is possible that they will increase rates again if inflation isn't coming back to the 2% target. Time will tell!!
The next scheduled date for announcing the overnight rate is April 12, 2023
