Great news again for everyone in a variable rate mortgage and those with Home Equity Lines of Credit. The Bank of Canada has reduced the overnight lending rate by 0.25% down to 2.25%. That will put Prime rate at 4.45%. That means everyone in a variable rate mortgage or a Home Equity Line of Credit will see their rate drop by 0.25%. The next rate announcement is Dec.10, 2025. Great news again for everyone in a variable rate mortgage and those with Home Equity Lines of Credit. The Bank of Canada has reduced their Policy Rate by 0.25%. That means everyone in a variable rate mortgage, or a Home Equity Line of Credit will see their rate drop by 0.25%. Another rate drop by the Bank of Canada. They reduced the overnight lending rate another 0.5%. That is a total of 1.75% reduction in the prime rate since June. That will directly affect everyone in a variable rate mortgage or a Home Equity Line of Credit. The next rate announcement is January 29, 2025.
