Bottom line, if you need to defer it will likely cost you more money in the end, BUT in my opinion this is a much better option than defaulting on payments without the approved deferral. This will still cost you money but also your credit rating which can affect your ability to borrow in the future and your ability to negotiate a fair renewal.

By offering customers payment deferrals during COVID-19 crisis, banks stand to increase profits.
