As of January 2021 driving tests will again be privatized. Waiting to hear about my license being reinstated by the government which I feel pretty confident about. Looking forward to getting back to testing people again!

Haven't been able to get a driver's test?

I see we've had a lot of interest in our page lately which doesn't surprise me. Knowing how difficult it was to get a driver's test before CoVID was bad enough, but now the government's takeover of the formerly privatized system will delay people's opportunities to be licensed for many months or longer!

Premier Kenney during his campaign promised to return the role of driver examiner to the private sector which hasn't happened yet.

I can assure everyone on this page that as one of the examiner's that had our business stolen by a marxist NDP government, we would love to be back at work for Albertan's in need of these services.

In fact, I can say that I personally worked on a proposal and presented it to the Minister of Transportation that had it been adopted, could have been implemented many months ago and would have given Albertan's a privatized, world class driver examination system!

Unfortunately, 15 months after the government takeover of our private businesses and almost 2 years after they announced their plan, the government has done nothing to re-privatize this system and put people back to work for the benefit of Albertan's!

We're sorry that we are unable to help you with your driver's test, but that is something that is beyond our control.

Did you do your class 1 road test between October 2018 and February 2019? Everyone who took their test during that time period did so according to the road test standards set out by Alberta Transportation. Do you think it is fair for the government to retest every class 1 driver who passed their test during that time with a road and knowledge test that will cause them to spend up to $1,500.00 or more for their test? This was the NDP's plan! I'm sure no one has any complaints about the new training standards for class 1 drivers, however it is unfair of the government to target these people. Either do it for everyone, or no one! This is kind of like the government setting up photo radar in a 60 km/h zone and setting the radar for 55 km/h for six months and then reducing the speed limit to 50 and mailing tickets out to everyone that was complying with the law in the previous six months!

93 signatures are still needed!

I haven't been on this page much since the NDP government forced all private examiners out of business. Just wondering if you have had any experiences with the new government run driver testing system? Please comment below and let me know what you think of the government system and how it's working.

An ICBC-approved translator may have helped hundreds of people cheat on their driving knowledge tests for a fee, CTV News has learned.
